Her dog house was flooded and she was freezing. It is amazing that she was able to survive in the recent frigid weather. Bonnie and Jackie took her to Ebenezer Animal Hospital and Jackie named her Faith. She is less than a year old, extremely emaciated (15 lbs underweight), she was dehydrated, and she has hookworms, roundworms, whipworms, mild heartworm positive. She also has infections in her feet and ears (see pictures below). The vet even picked plastic out of her mouth; she must have tried to eat her water bucket because she was so hungry. Faith seemed so thankful to finally have someone save her, love her and warm her.
We must stop this animal abuse/neglect that is so prevalent in our area. The citizens of York County need to advocate for more stringent laws that will protect the voiceless animals. It was just 18 days ago that Hope was rescued; we can only imagine how many neglected dogs we don’t see that end up starving to death. An example is the dog that was found dead this week at the end of chain in Clover (York County) - the dog had starved to death.
Updates coming soon
On Friday, Feb. 5, Animal Adoption League volunteers, Bonnie Lindberg and Jackie Kyles, rescued this poor helpless dog that was left to die. She was abandoned by her owners. They left her chained in a fenced back yard in Rock Hill, SC.
